Saba & Ishaan got married at the ITC Grand Bharat in a celebration that was so unconventional, it is definitely among the most unique experiences we have had documenting a wedding.
For starters, it began with a haldi ceremony where no one wore yellow because Saba is not particularly fond of the colour. Everyone was dressed in a beautiful shade of blue.
The mehendi happened at night. The Baraat happened on the day before the wedding ceremony, and the sangeet happened on the evening after they said their vows. See what we mean? This is definitely among the most special, warm, offbeat weddings we have had the honour of documenting.
A wedding like this deserves something special, so here are the best moments from Saba & Ishaan’s wedding, with a small description accompanying each.

It began with the haldi where everyone was told to NOT wear yellow

Aashna, Ishaan's sister, was the first one to make the haldi messy & as a result, kickstart the infinite fun!

Saba, Sanil & Manik led the charge when it came to ripping Ishaan's kurta off

Saba's mum adorned her with a beautiful dupatta made of flowers

While yellow was not allowed on outfits, it was DEFINITELY allowed on faces, and Saba had no issues getting downed with haldi, head to toe

All of her bridesmaids joined in to rain down flower petals on her

Here we have proof that every action has an equal and opposite reaction

When she was done with her bridesmaids, Saba found her way to Ishaan

As they went back to their villa, the sisters decided that the best way to get the haldi off was to jump into the pool

It was really cold, but Saba looked completely at home in the water

The mehendi was held post sunset, and what better way to begin it than having some shots?

Saba surprised her loved ones by dedicating a dance to them - it was amazing

Her dance was special not only because of how effortlessly she moved, but also because how meaningful the songs were to each of her family & friends

Some of us cried - okay, most of us did

As Saba lifted everyone's spirits, Ishaan & her dad simply decided to lift her

Truly, a woman of many talents

Ishaan & Manik responded with taking the floor on 'O O Jaane Jaana'

After this, of course our groom's dad must have felt on top of the world

Thanks to the prediction of rains on their wedding day, Saba & Ishaan decided to have their baraat on the day before the wedding. And as this first photo indicates, it was going to be crazy

Ria brought out the props

Which were immediately put to use

Saba got on her segway

And showed us that her balance was still intact

The bride squad approached the baraat

Ishaan was clearly happy to see her

The light started to dip

But the spirits continued to flow

Clearly, age is no bar when it comes to adding to the energy at the baraat - here, Saba dances with her grandparents

Ishaan's grandmom cheers everyone on from her seat in that beautiful vintage car

Both mum's had found a dance zone of their own

It's rare to see a bride at the baraat, and even rarer to see one floating in the air!

Saba & Ishaan were in no mood to end the baraat & continued to dance long after everyone entered the cocktail venue

At the cocktail, Gitana began to sing

Clearly, she has a magical voice

Saba's dad got on top of a table

And then he pulled up Nikita on the table too

Saba's mum joined her husband on the table top shortly after and Saba couldn't believe what was happening

So how could Saba & Ishaan resist?

Ishaan's friend Jolly took the stage (and the guitar) and sang an incredibly beautiful song he had composed a few years ago

Then came the biggest surprise of the night - Manik took the mic and rapped 'Apna time aayega' to bring the house down

After that, the dancing on table tops was replaced by dancing on indoor couches

Which eventually concluded with Aashna starting a series of champagne showers

The next day began with Ishaan's parents helping him get ready

Nikita helped put the final touches on Saba as she transformed into a bride

Saba chose to have white mehendi instead of the usual dark henna

Saba began her chuda with her circle of family & friends around her

Her uncle started singing

Her mum began her chuda ceremony

As her dad kissed her hand

We figured out who is getting married next

And also found those who were happy to remain single

Saba's dad picked Ishaan's dad up as the milni began

Ishaan walked to the mandap and waited for Saba

She took a moment before she walked in

Gitana started singing again...

As the doors opened to reveal the bride, a collective gasp went up in the air

She took everyone's breath away

They stood there, with Gitana singing for them, looking at each other. They took their time to absorb a memory of the moment

And then Ishaan led her up the stairs

They started with the warmest of hugs

Followed by an Eskimo kiss

They couldn't hide their excitement after their varmala

Ishaan didn't resist much when it came to giving his shoes away

Saba & Ishaan started their pheras, with her leading him around the holy fire

She did look back at him often, flashing that incredible smile

Their families couldn't stop cheering as they concluded their pheras

And couldn't help going 'awww' as they said their vows

They were showered with flowers soon after

As Ishaan paid his dues for his own shoes!

Saba started off as a smiling bride at her vidaai

But quickly got emotional as her father said 'take care of her'

She hugged everyone who brought her up

And then Ishaan held her face to wipe her tears

He gave her a kiss on the forehead

And she was a smiling bride again

"Bye! We shall see you at the sangeet", they said

And so the sangeet began, with Nikita kicking things off with a rap. You see, she stuck to the promise she made to Saba years ago, that she would do her speech at Saba's wedding in the form of a rap

As Saba took the stage, everyone was waiting to see what happens next

This started happening

And Ishaan couldn't stop smiling

Saba's dancing is a personification of grace

While Ishaan, Sanil & Sumer are an absolute riot of fun

These guys are just full of surprises for each other. At the end of his dance, Ishaan gifts Saba a delicate white rose

The OG Kapoors & Wannabe Kapoors (as they termed themselves) got into a dance off

The OG Kapoors were incredible

The OGs won the first round as Nikita messed up on stage

They concluded their dance off as one happy family

Saba & Ishaan had their first dance as a married couple, and it was as magical as we expected it to be

The bridesmaids dedicated an 'Ish' medley to Ishaan

The dances concluded with everyone getting up on stage

To then getting off it, as...

...Sukhbir got on to take it to the next level

And take it to the next level he definitely did
