Mother (definition)

(noun) The female parent of a person or animal

(verb) To look after somebody like a mother does

Being documentary photographers, we have the absolute honour and privilege of seeing the definition of a mother, and the many forms of motherhood across historical, landmark moments in the lives of individuals & families, several times a year. We wish we could do this more often in a year.

The images we have chosen here just happen to be unique enough for us to tell you our interpretation of these moments, where motherhood shows. Thank you for all of you who have chosen to show us this part of you.

...you can also joke with, as the priest is being all serious during your wedding rituals

...will cheer for you the loudest in the games after your wedding

...will be among the first ones to write your wedding hashtag in her henna design

...will match you step-for-step in your baraat

...will be a pillar of support for you as you begin a new phase of life

...can dance as she has never danced before, to express her joy at your wedding

...will continue to stay strong even after your emotional wall has been breached, just to show you that she's always there

...can't stop looking at you during family portraits

...will high five your groom at the mandap

...will be the first ones to dance when the percussionists arrive
