'A wedding with 70 people, with a bathtub as one of the important props', is what Mariella & Haamid told us the first time we spoke on FaceTime. This wedding was really special because each and every element of this wedding had a story. Moreover, each and every element was planned & executed by the couple's friends and family - ranging from the tiniest of decor details to the amazing food. No wonder that the wedding itself felt like it had a soul - one which throbbed with love, energy, colour and music on a beautiful Brooklyn evening.
We spent an afternoon with Mariella & Haamid in the Brooklyn Botanical garden, getting to know them better and making some photographs. This is where we got to know that their story had some amazing & very interesting chapters, one of which was Burning Man 2016 - this is where the bathtub idea was inspired from.
Mariella & Haamid's friends and family (and Haamid himself) spent the entire morning of the wedding day doing up the decor at Bogart House. Once the couple was ready, we walked the streets of Brooklyn for some couple portraits before their wedding. Mariella & Haamid's entry to the Bogart House rooftop was accompanied by a lot of cheers and warm hugs, as everyone then got seated to begin the wedding ceremony officiated by their friend, Vivek.
As evening turned to night, the amazing meal served by Lucia & Cookunity made sure everyone was ready to party the night away as Gavin Stephenson and then, David Hohme took the console.
Thank you, Mariella & Haamid for entrusting us with your wedding story - our first in NYC. It has truly been an honour to get to know you and your amazing families & friends.
