Weddings, just like life, are made up of tiny moments which are nested in larger moments as one flows through time. So this here is a snippet from Tanya & Shivam’s wedding, which begins just as they complete their varmala exchange and concludes just before their pheras ended.

A lazy afternoon mehendi at Avisha & Youry's wedding at Marrakech, Morocco
As the title suggests, it was a lazy afternoon. Moroccan musicians dressed in red played some traditional music, as the green cacti jutted out against the blue sky, and a black and white cat slept on a red carpet just outside a hotel suite from which the sound of laughter and chatter emerged. It was a lazy afternoon where Avisha was getting her mehendi applied, as Youry looked on.

What we have seen, and continue to see in weddings inspired this attempt
Our collaborative creative process is such that there is no specific starting point, especially because we don't know what form things will take. Last evening, after finally being home together after months on the road with time and freedom for our creative energies to play, it has taken a form of visual poetry inspired by photographs of moments we have shot across weddings
As Ekta came to me with a curated bunch of visuals, I started writing. And things started coming together such that every line of the poem corresponded to the visual accompanying it, and it built over time. So that is how you read it. One line, with a visual, and then the next line with the next visual.

Pooja & Manjot's heartfelt wedding at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, India
While Pooja & Manjot knew, and knew of each other for a while; it took some time for their story to brew. What they share in common is a love for good food, good music & dance. At the same time, they are quite different from each other in some ways - if you know them, you know what we are talking about. One thing though, is for certain - that together, they are electric.

#ComeWhatMay. Never has a hashtag been this relevant and meaningful. Over the last year, Aashna & Aniruddh faced whatever challenges life threw at them with a smile on their face and unconditional love in not just their hearts, but also the hearts of their friends and family. And so, when they got married in May at The JW Marriott in the mountains of Mussoorie, ‘Come What May’ had become more than just a hashtag - it was a collective cheer for having conquered hurdles together, and a rallying cry to come together and face any more challenges that life would bring. To stand united in the love of family & friends. And we were fortunate to be in the midst of all this, witnessing and experiencing it, and growing as human beings.
Read MoreTammy & Kartik's wedding at The Taj Vivanta, Rebak Islands - Malaysia
Tammy & Kartik’s wedding was a complete curveball for us in so many ways. Firstly, we had never experienced a bride & groom planning their wedding location based on the carbon footprint of the flight paths they and their guests would take while coming in from all around the world. Secondly, it was a wedding with just the two of us - Ekta on photo (mostly), and me on video (mostly). Thirdly, Tammy & Kartik got married thrice in three days! The first day, they had a surprise Parsi ceremony, which Ekta and I attended as guests. The second day, it was the Sofreh Aghd and then the Hindu wedding ceremony took place on the third day.
All of this happened at The Taj Vivanta, located on the Rebak Islands in Malaysia. There was so much happening in this wedding, which was so offbeat and interesting, that it deserves to be told as a story, mixing text & photographs. And of course, the wedding film.
