As the title suggests, it was a lazy afternoon. Moroccan musicians dressed in red played some traditional music, as the green cacti jutted out against the blue sky, and a black and white cat slept on a red carpet just outside a hotel suite from which the sound of laughter and chatter emerged.
In this hotel suite, Avisha sat in a shaded corner as her mehendi artists worked their magic into the design on her hands and feet. Avni and Shivang, her elder sister and younger brother played their respective roles - Avni, a companion to Avisha in laughter as Shivang kept the air peppered with humour. Avisha’s groom Youry, was more of a quiet and curious observer. Once Avisha got done with her mehendi, he got their wedding logo in henna on his hand as well.
We spoke to Avisha & Youry when all of this was happening, we asked them to define love. ‘Love is something that goes beyond logic and reason, it is not something that comes from the brain’, Youry said. Avisha added an interesting perspective. She said that the more time you spend in a relationship, the initial euphoric feeling gives way to the action of continuing to work on the relationship, such that you are continuously building to keep it strong. Different points of view, both adding to a strong core.
Outside, as the Sun shone and the musicians played, the black and white cat continued to sleep on the red carpet.
